Generic Info about the UWCHK Application Process for reference

The UWC movement seeks students who want to become change-makers for a better world - no matter their socio-economic, religious, national, ethnic or cultural background. Eligibility

To qualify as an applicant through UWCHK, you will need:
a) To hold a Hong Kong Permanent ID Card or dependent visa; and
b) To be currently studying in Secondary 4 / Secondary 5 (or its equivalent) as at September 2023.

Please note that some overseas UWC schools and colleges have a minimum age requirement.

It is anticipated that for each year's entry there will be approximately 60 scholarship places available to overseas UWC schools and colleges and to LPCUWC.

Second Round Application Deadline: 13 November 2023

UWCHK receives applications in multiple rounds. Students who submit a full application form by the First Round deadline will be considered first. Applications completed after the Second Round deadline will be considered on a rolling (first-come first-served) basis. Students are encouraged to submit their complete applications as soon as possible to be invited to Challenge Day. 

A complete application includes:

  • Application Form
  • Parent Statement - to be completed by parents
  • Recommendation Form - to be completed online by references who knows you well but are not your relatives or friends. They could be your school teachers, coaches or trainers for outside school activities.
  • Last 2 year school reports  
  • HKID and passport copies
  • A passport-size photo
